How to get to Yeouido Hangang Park

The park is close to the subway station, so taking the subway is the easiest way to reach it. Take Subway Line 5 to Yeouinaru Station, and exit at Exit 2 or 3. Once outside the station, you’ll see some stalls ahead. Just go straight toward the stalls and turn right when you reach the corner. If you spot the “I SEOUL U” sign, you’ve found the main entrance to Yeouido Han River Park.

Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival 

Yeouido in Seoul is a top spot to see cherry blossoms in early to mid-April. During this time, the annual Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival takes place along Yeouiseo Road (Yunjung-ro). It’s a stunning sight with over 1,886 Korean cherry blossom trees and other colorful flowers like royal azaleas and forsythia. You can enjoy picnics in Yeouido Hangang Park while watching the petals fall. In the afternoon and evening, there are performances by singers and musicians. Bamdokkaebi Night Market

The Seoul Night Market takes place every weekend from April to October at different spots across Seoul. It’s renowned as one of the city’s popular events, featuring a variety of food stalls, merchandise vendors, and performances. It provides a lively atmosphere where you can unwind with loved ones while savoring tasty food and enjoying entertaining shows.

In 2023, the night market was situated at Banpo Han River Park until October before moving to Yeouido Han River Park. For the 2024 schedule, visit their website for updates. Seoul International Fireworks Festival

The Seoul International Fireworks Festival is South Korea’s most impressive fireworks display. Since 2000, the Hanwha Group has held it yearly in October beside Yeouido Hangang Park. The event features stunning fireworks performances from teams worldwide, with the total display lasting about an hour. While the major fireworks show comes after dusk, several additional activities begin earlier in the afternoon, providing visitors a full day of excitement.

Things to do at Yeouido Hangang Park

Begin your exploration of Yeouido Hangang Park with a leisurely stroll along the tranquil banks of the Han River. The park is a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. You can also take in the beautiful views of the Seoul skyline, especially at night when the city lights are illuminated.

"Chimaek" delivery

Yeouido Han River is the go-to spot for picnics in Seoul. If you find yourself without picnic essentials, don’t worry! You can rent mats, wet tissues, and a small table for about 5,000 KRW ($3.76). You can bring food or buy snacks from convenience stores in the park or at a plaza near the station exit. Various delicious options include chicken, noodles, skewers, grilled potatoes, fresh fruits, and beverages. Another common option is to order food delivery in the park. There are designated spots in the park where you may pick up your delivered meal.

If you wish to spend more time in the park, you can opt to rent a tent from various companies available on-site. These tents are usually bundled with wet wipes and tables-like mats for about 10,000 KRW ($7.5). This option is particularly popular on hot and sunny days, offering a way to escape the heat. However, it’s important to note that tents can only be set up in designated areas. Failure to comply may result in fines, so it’s essential to be mindful of the rules.

Cycling along the Han River is a fantastic way to enjoy its beauty. Cycling offers a fantastic way to soak in the beauty of the Han River, with its stunning bridges and seasonal flowers adorning the cycling path. You’ll witness locals enjoying leisurely moments with friends, family, and loved ones, often picnicking along the riverbanks.

Consider renting a tandem bike for a shared experience if you’re with a friend or partner. Bicycle rental kiosks are conveniently located 4-minutes from Yeouinaru Station, on either side of the Han River. Prices are affordable, starting at 3,000 won ($2.25) for the first hour and 500 won ($0.38) for every 15 minutes after that. 

Adjacent to the 63 Building at the park, there’s a designated area for water sports and leisure activities. Here, you’ll find a variety of boats available for rental, including duck boats, electric boats, and water skis, offering plenty of options for aquatic enjoyment.

Han River E-land Ferry Cruise Ticket

After cycling or strolling, you can embark on the popular and reasonably priced Han River (Hangang) Cruise, departing from Yeouido Dock within the park for a unique perspective of the Han River. Operated by E-Land Cruise, these cruises offer different river experiences. 

During the day, the Story Cruise allows you to admire the beauty of the Hangang River, while the Music Cruise offers breathtaking views of the city’s nightscape and the vibrant Banpo Rainbow Bridge. The Lunch and Dinner Buffet cruises allow you to indulge in delicious cuisine while enjoying the scenery.
