Jeju has many free experiences: hiking Hallasan (Korea's tallest mountain), Osulloc Tea Museum and green tea fields, coastal trails like Seopjikoji and the Jeju Olle Trail, beaches like Iho Tewoo with its iconic horse lighthouses, and the Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road. Most of Jeju's stunning natural scenery is free to enjoy.
Spring (March-May): Canola flower fields, cherry blossoms, mild weather.
Summer (June-August): Beach season, hydrangea gardens in bloom.
Fall (September-November): Pink muhly grass, golden silver grass at Sangumburi Crater.
Winter (November-February): Tangerine picking season, fewer crowds, mild compared to mainland.
3-4 days: Main highlights (Seongsan Ilchulbong, waterfalls, Hallasan, key beaches).
5-7 days: Full exploration including Udo Island, multiple Olle Trail sections, and hidden gems.
Highly recommended. Unlike Seoul or Busan, Jeju's attractions are spread across the island with limited public transport. Renting a car gives you flexibility to visit remote beaches, oreums (volcanic cones), and scenic coastal roads. International driving permits are accepted. Alternatively, join organized tours for major attractions.
Seongsan (East): Ilchulbong sunrise peak, Udo Island day trip, Seopjikoji.
Seogwipo (South): Waterfalls (Jeongbang, Cheonjiyeon), Jungmun resort area, Jusangjeolli cliffs.
Aewol (Northwest): Trendy cafes, Handam coastal walk, sunset views.
Jeju City (North): Dongmun Market, airport area, Iho Beach.
Top Instagram-worthy spots: Seongsan Ilchulbong (dramatic sunrise), Seopjikoji coastal headland (K-drama filming location), Camellia Hill gardens, Iho Beach horse lighthouses (red & white), Sinchang Windmill Road, Osulloc green tea fields, and seasonal flower fields (canola, pink muhly).
Yes - Teddy Bear Museum, Hello Kitty Island, Aqua Planet aquarium, Seogwipo Submarine ride, tangerine picking farms, and beaches with calm waters. The Arte Museum digital art experience is also family-friendly. Many outdoor activities suit all ages.
March-May: Bright yellow canola flower fields across the island.
June-July: Hydrangea gardens at Hallim Park.
September-October: Pink muhly grass at Saebyeol Oreum, silver grass at Sangumburi Crater.
November-February: Tangerine (hallabong) picking at local farms.
Hiking: Hallasan summit trails, volcanic oreums (Saebyeol, Sangumburi).
Coastal: Jeju Olle Trail walking paths, kayaking at Soesokkak Estuary.
Adventure: Tandem paragliding, sea walking (HAMO experience), Udo Island cycling.
Water: Snorkeling, submarine tours, beach activities.
