Sunchang is the birthplace of Korea’s hot and spicy gochujang. Gochujang is hot red pepper paste and in most part of every Korean meal. Sunchang’s warm natural environment makes the abundant produce of Korean hot peppers making it an ideal place for a Gochujang festival. The 14th Sunchang Jang festival will have various programs like Tteokbokki tasting with gochujang and other sauces, gochujang presentation parades, games, world sauce fairs, chicken and beer festival and much more. All ages are welcomed and make sure you check your dress code. It will be a “red” only festival 🙂
